March is . . .
West Side Story transfers Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
to modern-day New York. The love story of Romeo and Juliet becomes
that of Maria and Tony. The feud between the houses of the Capulets
and the Montagues is re-created in one involving two teen-age gangs,
the Jets and the Sharks. The famous balcony scene of the Shakespeare drama transpires on a fire-escape of an ugly New York tenement.
The East Brunswick High School Drama Club presents the Leonard Bernstein musical "West Side Story" on Fridays and Saturdays, March 8, 9, 15, 16 (7:00 PM). Co-sponsored by EBHS PAPA, EBPS, and the EBEF (Class of 1992 Grant). Tickets (available at the door) are $12 (Adults) and $6 (Students and Seniors).
For more information call the EBHS Performing Arts Office at (732) 613-6969.
The Hammarskjold Middle School Drama Club presents HONK! JR., a contemporary retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling with a score
that everyone will enjoy. “Honk!” tells the story of an odd
looking baby duck, Ugly, and his adventurous quest to find his
mother. Honk has a great message about learning to appreciate
everyone’s differences. Bring the whole family to the EBPAC on
Thursday, March 21 or Friday, March 22 @ 7:30 PM. All general admission
tickets are $5.
